Congratulations to ROXY! She is South Tacoma Auto's 2011 Pet of the Year!! Roxy was dropped off about a month ago at the Lakewood PetSmart by a good Samaritan. She was only three months old and her baby teeth were cracked and damaged; someone was abusing her. Christine was volunteering at the same PetSmart and offered to take Roxy home with the intention of fostering her. Little did she know that she would find Roxy under the tree with a bow on Christmas morning - she had found her forever home with her new mommy Christine and their two kittens, Neko and Leo! Now, Roxy is the Grand Prize winner and South Tacoma Auto is HONORED to donate $591 to the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County in her behalf! Congratulations Roxy and Christine and Happy NEW YEAR!!

In Memory of Ed Zaratkiewicz
On this day last year, we lost one of beloved team members, Ed Zaratkiewicz. The South Tacoma Auto family will never be the same without his silly jokes and his great stories. We all love him and miss him greatly. Gone, but never forgotten.

Dana's Experience with South Tacoma Auto
E-mails like these make us so proud of what we do. Thanks for doing business with us, Dana! We hope to see you again in the future!
"I just recently purchased a 2006 Mercedes Benz from South Tacoma Auto. This is my second time coming here because of your Sales Associates. I have been to several car places and none of them have worked with me in such a professional and just down right awesome manner. I would like to take this time in the email to explain that Jason Joyce and Gary Robinson did an amazing job, from finding a car that suited me to making sure that everything was taken care of that I didn't have to worry about anything. And being active military I have enough to worry about, so between Gary and Jason they did and outstanding job! These two hardworking men were very knowledgeable, helpful, and listened to what I wanted. Because of these two men I would come back and purchase and refer anyone to this establishment. Again I just wanted to say thank you again for everything!"
Sincerely,
Dana L.

What Referrals and Repeat Customers Mean To Us
As kids, we were told "good job", given a pat on the back or maybe even a high five. We were praised for our good behavior and looked down upon for bad behavior. Doing a good job in today's business world is a different story and is no longer an option, it's expected. There is no room for mistake, no room for disagreement and certainly, no room for error.
Recently, a patron provided one of his business cards to a sales associate here at South Tacoma Auto. On the front was the typical logo, his name and contact information, however, on the back was something very unique. The back of the business card said "The greatest gift I can ask for is the name and number of a friend or family member so I may provide them with great service too." What a bold statement. As sales associates, we always give our cards first, so that we can negate the "let me have your card" exit typical in our industry. By giving a card with that stated quote on the back, a promise is made to set a high level of service to get a referral.
South Tacoma Auto has a huge following, and with a huge following comes the expectation of honest, ethical business practices. You can leave your worries at the door when you step into our franchise quality showroom. Working with companies like MILES, SNAAC and other prime and sub-prime provides us the tools needed to get you into a car that works both on paper and in real life. Oh, speaking about paper, South Tacoma Auto has a VIP Referral Program that can put money in your back pocket. Ask Alex Moncada about the program and sign up today!
We pride ourselves in our business. It's our way of showing clients that there still are good old fashioned car dealerships out there filled with honesty and integrity. We look forwards to seeing you soon!

Gas Prices, Earthquake Aftermath and The Car Business
While enjoying my dinner the other night, I overheard a couple talking about their purchasing experience at a local car dealership, and how they felt misinformed by the sales rep. Being in the industry, I take an interest in hearing other perspectives and utilize the indirect feedback as a means for growth. After about five minutes, I invited myself to join, and they accepted the invitation.
Introducing myself, I began to ask questions regarding their experience and how they felt mislead. They stated that the sales associate was providing false information regarding pricing and market value, and that market value on a vehicle never goes up. In a professional manor, I interrupted the gentleman and provided professional, accurate information with regards to market value in today's automotive industry. While most think the value of a vehicle only declines, reality states the opposite, depending on circumstance.
With gas prices at a near record high, the value of small, gas fuel efficient vehicles has skyrocketed while having the opposite effect of gas guzzling cars, truck and SUV's. So can retail prices go up on vehicles? Sure! Market value is what dealerships base their pricing on, amongst other contributing factors, with the second factor being supply and demand.
Supply and demand is an intermittent issue in the automobile business as 99% of the time manufacturers are well stocked with labor and parts to assemble vehicles. With the recent tragedy in Japan, manufacturers both foreign and domestic are unable to produce product as usual, creating a shortage in new vehicles. With a shortage in new vehicles, comes an increased market value in pre-owned vehicles.

Let's Break The Ice
With blogs and "blogging" gaining popularity and function, we thought it would be a great time to take advantage of this growing trend. Yes, we are a little late, however, better late than never! Our first blog is an introduction to South Tacoma Auto including our history, awards and our mission. We are excited to tell you all!
Take a trip down South Tacoma Way and what do you find? That's right, car dealership after car dealership after car dealership, with some being glamorous "franchise" dealerships and others being "independent" car lots. Heading Southbound on South Tacoma Way past 74th Street on the right hand side you will find a glamorous "independent" lot, also known as South Tacoma Auto.

South Tacoma Auto is owned by Mo Aliabadi and his wife, Angela. Mo is a well respected, self made businessman who came to the United States at the age of 18 from Tehran. His journey in entrepreneurship was not easy, however looking back on his journey, Mo says he never had one regret. From washing dishes to selling insurance and owning a gas station, Mo was dedicated in every position to take his career to the next step.
Before the showroom on 78th and South Tacoma Way was built, South Tacoma Auto had two locations further North on Tacoma's auto row. Finally in 2003, Mo decided to consolidate both lots and create one "franchise style" dealership, and he did just that. Looking down on his well lit, boutique style showroom, Mo smiles as he watches the staff build relationships with customers. Mo designed the current showroom to show customers that South Tacoma Auto was no different than the "big names" and that the business was just as stable and respectable. Obviously his theory has been embraced as his crew averages 130 cars per month in production. South Tacoma Auto has received the 2007 and 2008 Washington State Independant Auto Dealers Association award and recently Mo himself was awarded the UW Tacoma Small Business Leader of the Year Award.
Yes, the showroom is impressive, but wait until you see the inventory. Quality, low mileage vehicles in almost every style possible. Simply put, there is something for everybody. From luxury sedans to rugged SUV's, South Tacoma Auto has what you are looking for and priced below the competition. Mo figures once you buy a new car and drive it off the lot, it is considered used, so why not offer top quality pre-owned vehicles that cost less then they did when new, hence the motto, "Buy Smart - Buy Used".
Stop by and say hello to Mo and the gang. If you are lucky you will be greeted by Lulu, Mo and Angela's Golden Retriever that doubles as the South Tacoma Auto mascot.
